SELLSATION refers to detailed views as the pages that show all the details about the information areas. So the open data record of the customer, projects/leads or contact persons.
In contrast to many other systems on the market, we want to display the most important information about both the customer and the project(s) or leads on one screen.
To make working with the detailed views easier, we would like to explain the individual areas and functions in this article.
1. Areas of the detailed views
The main window of the detailed view can be divided into the following 4 areas:
-
Area A shows the most important information about the customer, such as
- Customer name
- address
- Telephone number
- E-mail address
- Customer advisor
- Unique e-mail address of the customer (or project or lead - see explanation below)
-
Area B shows, depending on whether you are:
- in the project view, if you have opened a specific project, the project details or
- in the customer view (select “All projects” or “Customer without projects”), the project summary for this customer.
- Area C is what we call the timeline, which lists all phase shifts, consultant changes, activities, tasks, campaign entries, customer satisfaction surveys, etc. The entries listed vary depending on the view selected (individual project or all projects).
- Area D is a minimized contact person overview that is assigned to the customer or the projects.
LINK:There is a separate Contacts tab, where the Buying Center is also displayed. You can find more information on this here.
Please note that if no contact person is assigned to a customer or project, the lower area of the contact persons is closed. To open it, please click on the highlighted button.
2. Important operating elements in the detailed view
A: The central “+” and the “+” next to the customer name
You can use the central “+” and the “+” next to the customer name to create new projects, new customers and contact persons, tasks and activities (appointments, calls, other activities and notes) in the detailed view. If you are in the detailed view, the open customer or project is already preselected.
B: Here you can switch between the various projects of the customer or directly to the customer in the detailed view.
C: Here you can see in the project detail view which phase the project is currently in (blue phase) or which phases the project has already been in (green phases). If you click on the pipeline, the phase change box opens.
D: Here you can switch between the areas “Activities” (all activities at the customer or project), tasks and files.
E: Here you can create new notes, appointments, calls, other activities, files, e-mails, phase shifts and tasks. With the filter on the right, you can filter by activities.
F: Here you can determine the visibility of contact person activities in the customer or project timeline, define the sorting of contact persons, add contact persons to the customer or project and show or hide the contact persons on the first page using the arrow on the right.
3. View selection - 1st tab of the detailed view
The first tab in the detailed view combines several functions:
- As a clickable area to activate the tab
- As a selection dropdown to change the view, as shown above. The options are:
- Customer without project: The information displayed in area B is a summary or totals of all the customer's projects. In area C, only activities and tasks that are exclusively related to the customer are displayed. All project-related timeline entries are hidden. In area D, all contact persons of the customer are displayed, but not contact persons who are connected to the customer's projects but not to the customer itself (e.g.: external contacts).
- All projects: This view shows the same information in area B as in the “Customer without project” case. In area C, all timeline entries of the customer and all projects are listed, but not the phase shifts. In area D, all contact persons who are connected to the customer and their projects are listed.
- Open projects: All of the customer's open projects are available for selection here and can be selected by clicking on them.
- Won projects: All of the customer's won projects are available for selection here and can be selected by clicking on them.
- Lost projects: All of the customer's lost projects are available for selection here and can be selected by clicking on them.
3.1 Customer view (“Customer without projects” or “All projects”)
The project summary is displayed in area B and looks like this:
On the left are the main totals for all open projects, in the middle for the won projects and on the right those of the lost projects. This view cannot be changed by configuration.
3.2 Project view
In this variant, area B looks like this:
The project name also serves as the title for the first tab. Below this, the sales process is symbolized, which shows the position of the project within the sales process. In green colored phases the project was in the past, the blue phase represents the current phase. In the white phases, the project has not yet or not yet been moved, i.e. you can also see from this display whether a project has skipped a phase.
The most important information is displayed in the lower box. Your administrator can also create the most important user-defined fields in this area.
The blue “ellipses” on the right show the customers assigned to this project. They are only visible if a project is assigned to several customers and are used to switch between the assigned customers.
The circle on the far right “...” is the button to open the context menu for the project.
4. Activities, tasks and files tabs
In the customer and project views, in addition to the “Activities” tab, in which all activities of the customer or the selected project are visible, you will also find two tabs “Tasks” and “Files”. This allows you to see all tasks and documents at a glance.
4.1 Tasks
In the “Tasks” tab, there is a filter and a button with which the order can be defined.
You can use the filter to select which tasks should be visible. You can also select future tasks that are triggered by a phase shift. You can use the button next to the filter to define the chronological order of the tasks.
4.2 Files
In the “Files” tab, you can see all the files available for the customer or selected project. This also includes files contained in emails. Files can be sorted by name, date and type.
Files can also be untitled and downloaded.
5. The other tabs
The following is a brief description of what information can be found in the tabs:
- Project information (only in the project view): all additional project information is displayed here, i.e. all enabled standard fields or all user-defined fields that are grouped into so-called containers.
- Customer information: all additional customer information is displayed here, i.e. all enabled standard fields or all user-defined fields that are grouped into so-called containers.
- Contact data: the address(es), telephone number(s) etc. are displayed here.
- Contacts / Buying Center: here you can see the assigned contact persons or the contact persons assigned to the Buying Center with their roles.
- Project overview: All projects assigned to the customer are displayed here
- Offer: Only visible if your client has been configured to create quotes.
- Corporate group: Only visible if the client is part of a group. In this case, you can see the other group companies in the form of an organizational structure in this tab. Whether a company is part of a group can be determined on a case-by-case basis. To do this, you must activate the group function for the respective company in the menu button marked in the image below.
6. Editing customers, projects and contacts in the detailed view
6.1 Edit mode
Information fields can be edited directly using the edit mode.
To do this, click on the Edit button contained in the detailed views or navigate with the mouse arrow over the field to be edited and click on the edit symbol that appears.

6.2 Menu buttons
As an alternative to the edit mode described in the previous chapter 5.2, you can also use menu buttons to edit customers, projects or contact persons. You will find menu buttons in various places in SELLSATION; all functions for the respective area are summarized here.
In the project, customer and contact person detail views, you will find menu buttons with context-dependent functions.
Example project view:
