With Q3 2021 SELLSATION will be presented in a new version. Above all, our goal was to make SELLSATION even more intuitive and to integrate the many new functions that have been added over time, not least because of your feedback, into a homogeneous surface. Of course, this entails minor changes in the user interface. We want to address these changes in this article.
It was about time
Time advances and so does the framework for software development. If the user interface, i.e. the one with which you control your SELLSATION client, was implemented in the previous version of SELLSATION with the Angular 1.x framework, it was necessary to bring this framework up to date. We decided on a new and more powerful framework - REACT - and worked at full speed on the implementation of the new version over the past year.
Our design team has completely revised the design of SELLSATION, combined other fonts and controls and reorganized many controls.
We are convinced that we have made working with SELLSATION even more intuitive and pleasant and look forward to your feedback.
The SELLSATION Screen
The basic layout has been retained. The main menu, the left navigation bar and the data frame have been arranged in a similar manner in terms of their position to make the change as easy as possible for you.
What's new:
Adding new Information
Up until now, adding new information was largely spread over the screen, so you had to look for the + sign to add it in different places. Another disadvantage was that it was not possible, for example, to create a new customer from the project overview (sales process). To do this, you had to switch to the customer overview.
Now the + has moved to the main menu and you have the option of creating new information for almost all areas about this - we call it - global +.
The most important information areas (or entities) are always available:
- Project
- Customer
- Contact Person
- Task
Depending on the currently active function - such as actions - further options for adding new information are displayed dynamically. Here are two examples:
The project overview as an active function:
The action overview as an active function:
Processing of customers, projects and contact persons
We have added another and more effective method for editing clients, projects and contacts. We call it inline edit. Previously, you had to switch to the editing dialog to edit data records. Now you can edit the existing information directly in the opened detailed view. To do this, you have to navigate with the mouse cursor over the field to be edited and click on the displayed edit symbol.
The entire detailed view can then be edited in the same layout. You can edit customer data, project data etc. at the same time and then save them. With the Inline Editor, there is only one save button that will save all data that have been changed with just one click:
However, you can also switch between the tabs in the detail view in order to edit the information contained in these tabs. Here, too, these changes are being saved with the same save button (blue - top right).
Of course there is still the possibility to change the data in the usual editing dialog. There is also a menu in the top right-hand corner of the respective information area, symbolized by the circle with three dots:
At the very top right - marked with a 1 - you can see the context menu for the customer data. Below (2) for project data, and again below (3) the context menu for the respective contact person.
The context menu for customer data (1) looks like this, depending on the configuration of your tenant:
If you click on the edit option, you will get to the edit dialog in all information areas, which looks similar to what you are used to from the previous SELLSATION version.
Not all editing options are available in the so-called inline edit mode, and if you have started to edit a project in the inline mode, you are able to switch to the edit dialog using the context menu to continue your edits. All changes made so far are of course transferred to the dialog. An example would look like this:
In the picture above, the edit dialog for customer data is open. In this mode it is important to note that - as already mentioned - only one information area is processed at a time.
Other functions - the elimination of icons
Another new feature is that the many icons for various functions have been moved to the context menu. Also to make your work easier. Centralized controls as far as possible, was our goal.More space for your data
The customization with a freely selectable background image is still available to you, but you now have the option of folding the background image away if necessary by clicking on an arrow symbol in the project overview. This creates more space for your project overview:
This is how it looks after switching off the background image:
Marked in the picture above you can see where you can find the down arrow to show the background image again.
The Main Menu
Already in the last versions of SELLSATION, the main menu has now become more interactive. Navigate with the mouse over the main menu and the respective sub-items open. You can now switch directly to the desired sub-function without first having to open the corresponding main page:
Example Customer Menu:
The Success Analysis and Tasks menu has further sub-items below the first submenu level, which can also be accessed directly from here. To do this, you have to navigate with the mouse over the main menu item, the menu opens and by clicking on the submenu item you open the options below. In this example you can see saved reports below the success analysis:
New Functions
The new functions that are available to you with the new release are described in detail in separate articles.
The Dashboard
All reports that you design under the success analysis can be made visible at a glance in one or more dashboards, to analyze the most important KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Each user can put together one or more of their own dashboards and is able to see all data (which are available according to the respective authorization structure - user role):
Apply Corporate Structures
With the new version, you can display nested corporate structures in an org chart view or as a list. This gives you an overview of all open, won or lost projects within an entire multi subsidiary corporation at a glance. The group view gives you an overview of who you already know in the entire group (contact tab). You can switch between the customer view and the group view in the respective views. You can view the individual corporate entities in isolation or in context:
